Gorgeous kitchens.

With people not selling and buying homes at the same rates we once were, more home owners are choosing to renovate their existing homes instead. Kitchen remodels are one of the best things to do in terms of getting a return on your investment when the market does turn around down the road. Kitchen trends are currently leaning most heavily towards the color white. Using a lot of white produces clean crisp lines and creates an opportunity for pops of color versus all-over color. Color is always a great way to add drama to a room but, crisp clean lines are very popular currently. These are some of my favorites.

Green Carpet/ Is there any body out there?

So in my 20+ minutes of searching for some residential carpets that meet the requirements for low voc or high post consumer recycled content I have come up with very little. Most of the results I got were different forms of an explanation of the CRI's(Carpet and Rug Institute) Green Label. How carpets can get the CRI Green Label stamp of approval etc. I finally found a link to a small list if manufacturers, all of which were in California. This is apparently going to be more work than I anticipated. Here are a couple pics I got from one of the companies I found. They are called Sunrise Home and they had decent(but not wow worthy) area rugs.

Bedrooms

We are starting to get ready to renovate 2 bedrooms in our home. The guest room/nursery, which we have been sleeping in, and the master, which we haven't been using. Thinking about these spaces sent me on a search for some ideas. These are a few I came up with. They all have elements that I like but, aren't exactly what I'm going for.

Found these on the dwell website. Gorgeous clean lines in the modern room. So calming. The room with the brick is calming in a homey comfortable way. Very warm.
